Meet Emily

Therapist.
Dancer.
Sensitive Soul

My Story

I’ve been on my own healing path as long as I’ve held space for others.

I know the pain of uncertainty and grief as well as the fruits of improving my capacity to understand myself and sit with discomfort – more fun, deeper connections, less fear, better sleep and (sometimes) genuinely enjoying my family of origin.

I love being silly. Dance and nature are my elixirs and I spend as much time with them as possible.

Guiding Values

  • I prioritize the expertise, and autonomy, of those seeking care – sharing power and decision-making to counteract hierarchical, coercive dynamics that are widespread in our society. Think “power with” not “power over.” Ultimately, the goal is for you to better understand and trust yourself as you move through the world - I believe we plant the seeds for this in our therapy relationship.

  • I view the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected aspects of health. I honor intuitive, somatic and ancestral knowledge as valid ways of understanding truth - alongside logic and cognitive reasoning. This is in contrast to dominant systems that privilege linear logic and rationalism and dismiss intuitive ways of knowing as ‘irrational’ or ‘lesser.’

In addition to talking—we’ll engage with movement, breath, creativity, art, spirituality and other non-verbal tools that help you access deep wisdom and intuition. I have foundational knowledge in sensory regulation/processing, nutrition and herbalism. I can provide referrals for specialists in these areas, or other healthcare and healing disciplines, as the need arises.

  • I’m committed to building awareness of, and unlearning, the internalized beliefs that our worth is determined by how well we adhere to dominant culture standards around achievement, neurotype, gender, race, sexual orientation, ability, body size, etc. We can reclaim a sense of self that is rooted in authenticity and inherent belongingness. Our differences are not something to be overcome; they are sources of strength, creativity, and wisdom. We can help you understand what accommodations and resources will help you thrive.
